I have had my Sony Xperia for quite some time now and I am really happy with it. I been using it with AT&T since I first bought it without any problems. Recently I moved and as it shows the reception is incredibly bad out here on the countryside
I bought myself a prepaid simcard from another carrier that I been told would work great out here and thought I just needed to switch simcard in the phone.
What I did not know was that my Sony Xperia Z was locked, simlocked as it’s called. A simlocked phone will only work with simcards from a specific carrier, in my case that was simcards from AT&T.
When I tried the new simcard the phone freeze and asked me for a “Network Unlock Code”. I had a feeling this was no code like 1234 or 0000 so I made a quick search on the Internet on this issue.
After some reading I came to the conclusion that the only way to unlock this simlock is to buy the unique unlock code for my phone. The unlock code is somehow calculated from the phones IMEI-number.
There’s quite a few websites out there offering unlock codes for all different brands of phones but I found a website that only offered unlock codes for Sony Xperia so I figured they should know what they’re doing and be able to help me to unlock my Sony Xperia Z. I … Read the rest
